Definition - SPICES - Cloves
Clove buds are picked from evergreen trees in Indonesia and Madagascar. Their strong, pungent aroma is often used to flavor meats and dishes. Whole cloves can be used to stud hams and other meats for cooking. Ground cloves are commonly added to baked goods, like cakes and cookies. The warm, sweet flavor of cloves pairs well with cinnamon and nutmeg
