Endangered Fish Species

Endangered fish species are those that are at risk of becoming extinct due to human activities or natural factors. Many endangered fish species are found in tropical and subtropical regions where their habitats are being rapidly destroyed or degraded. Overfishing and destructive fishing practices also contribute to the decline of these species as they often target vulnerable populations. Climate change is another major threat, causing shifts in water temperature and chemistry that can harm or kill certain fish species. Some endangered fish species are already critically rare, with fewer than 50 individuals remaining in the wild. Conservation efforts are underway to protect and recover many of these threatened fish species.
