LCD displays are flat-panel screens used in electronic devices. A liquid-crystal display uses a layer of liquid crystals for imaging. These displays operate by blocking or allowing light to pass through. LCDs use a backlight and polarized filters to produce color images. Thin-film transistors control the liquid crystals' orientation and movement.
