The Holy Spirit is often referred to as the Comforter or Paraclete. He guides believers into all truth and reminds them of Jesus' teachings. As a gift from God, the Holy Spirit indwells believers and transforms them. The Spirit convicts people of sin and leads them to repentance and salvation.
